Do you do a lot of reading in the summer? Or maybe you read all year round. I tend to read more in the summer because I am hanging by the pool or sitting outside enjoying the warm sun. I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for a good book. I was talking to one of my college roommate’s recently and it turns out, that over the course of the summer, she read the same books!! (plus a few more that I hope to read soon). Since I am always searching for some good ones I thought you might like to know about them too.Read More
As a blogger, I usually schedule my posts, pins, and instagram stories ahead of time. So that when I go on vacation I don’t have to think about it. For some reason I forgot to do that before we left on a camping trip and did not realize it until we were in the car. No worries right?! I can do it when I get there right? Wrong - our campsite had NO cell service and NO wifi. What?! How can that be?Read More
I recently wrote a post titled ‘10 Things I Would be Sad to Lose’. And that got me thinking….again (since I became a blogger all I do is think). What items can I NOT live without. So, I am looking thru the lens of…..what do I use all the time that is a part of me - things I love or….’can’t live without’…Read More
Have you ever wondered how to discover your God-given creative gift? Have you ever wondered if you even have a creative gift? Did you know that creative ≠ artistic?
My daughter, Nicole, has a Podcast called The Studio 46:10 Podcast, where she talks about ‘Faith, Marriage & Everything in Between’. She asked her listeners what they wanted her to talk about and one of her listeners submitted this question - ‘How do we discover our God-given creative gift?’ Now, that is a BIG question. Nicole thought about that question for quite awhile and then she turned to me.Read More
Every year I look forward to figuring out what I am going to make for Christmas presents. One year I made Vanilla Extract. The vanilla was a HUGE hit with everyone. They just loved it. Since I recently moved, and now have a different set of friends….AND my children are grown and out of the house and do their own cooking…..I decided to repeat the Vanilla Extract for Christmas this year. Homemade Vanilla Extract is so much better than store bought - and so much cheaper too. AND it is so so so easy - Yay for easy!Read More
As adults, we have budgets for now and budgets for the future. How will your children/grand children know how to save for the future if we don’t show them? How will they know that having $1,000 in their checking account does not mean that it can all be spent on new clothes or a new phone? What about the auto insurance or the rent? When we begin teaching them at an early age, for the most part, it becomes routine. Kinda like brushing their teeth or combing their hair or getting dressed before they leave the house.
Did you know that Santa has a REAL mailing list? I mean….like a REAL address? Did you know that the USPS has a program for sending letters from Santa postmarked from the North Pole that has been going on for over 100 years? I had no idea. I stumbled upon it while I was writing my ‘Letters TO Santa’ post. Just for you, I have created a FREE letter for your kids/grandkids to sent TO Santa. Check it out!Read More
One year, my daughter Nicole, had a hard time with her Christmas list. She couldn’t have been more than 9….but maybe even younger….I really have no idea. haha. I think it was because every commercial gave her a new MUST have idea and she kept changing her mind. She sent many many letters to Santa that year. The kicker came on Christmas Eve when she put her ‘new and updated’ list under the tree. What!? Christmas Eve! I can’t even remember what I told her….Read More
